This piece titled, “Help” is fit within a framework much like the community the Dispatch station monitored. The shapes and forms of events that happen within the community are abstract and twist, turn, and overlap with each other. When help is needed and called upon, the organization sent to assist needs to have a larger view of the events near and far but still within the framework and from one central perspective.

Andy Cunningham is a Sacramento based artist/teacher who’s three dimensional pieces are exploring the space between Painting and Sculpture. Coming from close to 30 years of non- objective painting, he pulls from the rich history of minimalism’s color and abstract expressionism’s gestural movement to create pieces that invite the viewer in for a closer inspection and allow for the distance of contemplative viewing. For Dispatch, where both intimacy and distance are required due to the myriad of emergency situations that once filled this space on a daily basis, he hope to bring forth both the larger picture and the intimate details.
