The Adversary Within, 2026
“How can I be substantial if I do not cast a shadow? I must have a dark side also If I am to be whole.”
C.G. Jung
This piece is a self-reflection and a mantra. On the carousel of life, we all experience ups and downs. Some of our own doing, and others out of our control. This speaks to the things that can hold us back from stepping into our full potential- whether that's addiction, old habits, self-sabotage, trauma, or anything else we need to let go of in order to keep moving forward. At the same time we have to embrace our shadow, to truly be whole, as we navigate thru this human experience. We ultimately decide what we let guide our path.
The pillar represents the stability, reaching into the cosmos- the Tao, that from which all life flows and cycles. The beam extending from the figure ascending the staircase, symbolizes imagination and expansion, and the intuition from the universe when you choose to acknowledge it, completing the cycle back toward the source.
